What will
you meet?
Passing through the Porta Montanara, visitors re-enter the fabric of the old town, with its stratification of architectural eras spanning 2000 years and the chance to meet the proud resident Spellani who would never leave their home. These people embody the historical memory of life within these walls thanks to their traditions, rituals, brotherhood and sharing of all those moments, both sad and happy, that make up the life of a community. ThisSection is entirely downhill, and the sights, in addition to the churches and palaces, include the last two Roman gates, the ruins of the Arco di Augusto and the San Sisto Gate.
